The 17-time WWE World Champion is set to battle R-Truth this Saturday!
Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena is set to battle R-Truth in a non-title match at the upcoming Saturday Night’s Main Event on May 24 in Tampa, Florida. The match was set after Truth saved Cena from the punt kick by Randy Orton at Backlash 2025, inadvertently helping him win.
However, Cena repaid him by putting him through a table during the post-show press conference. Truth is now set to beat some sense into his “childhood hero”, someone whom he has been rooting for since he was a little kid.
While Truth is all set to battle his “childhood hero”, Cena is not just baffled by the support but is puzzled by how he can be Truth’s role model. Replying to the question during the May 17 Q&A at Philadelphia Fan Expo, of Truth naming him as his “childhood hero,” he turned down the claim, stating,
“How in the space time continuum can I be R-Truth’s childhood hero when he’s 150 years old. It doesn’t make any sense.”
During the Q&A, Cena also named the most interesting feuds he’s had over his legendary career, he named The Rock and CM Punk, and left the third one for the fans to decide, leading a fan to yell Randy Orton’s name to which Cena replied, “sure”.

John Cena reveals his favorite t-shirt design at the Philly Fan Expo
The 17-time World Champion has had multiple iconic t-shirt designs featuring multiple designs and colours, but when it comes to choosing his favorite, Cena has only saved one special limited edition shirt for his personal collection.
At the Philadelphia Fan Expo, John Cena revealed his all-time favorite WWE t-shirt design, which is the Super Mario parody shirt. Cena explained that they planned to sell 500 shirts bundled with a championship belt, wristbands, an NFT, an autograph, and a commemorative book.
“The my favorite one of all time is a very, very limited one – it’s the Super Mario parody. I thought they were going to be great. We were going to run 500 shirts and we sold it with like a championship belt, wristbands, an NFT, autograph, a commemorative book… but the price point was way too high. I learned my lesson.”
However, the Undisputed Champion also points out that the high price point led to very poor sales, stating that they only sold 15 shirts, leading the WWE to approach him wanting to sell the t-shirt at a regular price, but he refused.
“It’s the one time I put my foot down and I said, ‘No. There are people out there that spent a lot of their resources and I want them to have something collectible.’”
The t-shirt is also the only one that he has kept in his personal collection. “It’s the only shirt of mine I’ve ever saved. I have serial number 000, and I really think that’s the dopest shirt.” Cena said.
