“Rohit Sharma should retire from IPL” fans react to hitman’s failure in crucial match against PBKS

Rohit Sharma was back in the hut after scoring just 24 runs off 21 balls against Punjab Kings in IPL 2025.

Mumbai Indians (MI) batter Rohit Sharma’s poor run in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 continued as he failed against Punjab Kings (PBKS). This match between these two teams is being played on Monday (26 May) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

Rohit Sharma, who opened the innings for the Mumbai Indians, had a shaky start to his innings. The premier batter played some good-looking shots during his stay at the crease, but he failed to carry on the start that he had and bagged another failure in the ongoing edition.

Rohit Sharma, who was tested by Marco Jansen early in his innings, released the pressure as soon as Harpreet Brar came into attack. The opening batter slammed the spinner for a six and then a boundary, putting the bowler under pressure in his first over itself.

It then seemed that Rohit Sharma would go on to play a big knock, but that wasn’t the case as Harpreet Brar took his revenge to perfection. The Punjab Kings skipper removed the opening batter in the 10th over and put his team at the top of the game.

Rohit Sharma lost his wicket while trying to play a big shot. The batter made room and looked to go down the ground. But he got nowhere close to the middle and the ball flew towards long-on, where Nehal Wadhera ran in and bent forward to take a superb catch.

Rohit Sharma was back in the hut after scoring just 24 runs off 21 balls. The former Mumbai Indians skipper had a strike rate of just over 114 as he slammed two boundaries and one six during his stay at the crease. His wicket saw Mumbai losing their second wicket for 81.

Since the IPL 2024, Rohit Sharma has been a disappointment in the league while batting first. In the 12 innings, he has slammed just 214 runs at an average of around 17.
