Max Dowman breaks the record previously held by Bruno Gama.

The UEFA European Under-17 Championship is going at full pace. The tournament is now in its semi-final stage, where France U-17 are going to battle Belgium U-17 in the first semi-final. The other semi-final will be played between Italy U-17 and Portugal U-17.

The UEFA Euro U-17 saw a record broken. There have been several players in the tournament’s history who have scored goals to lead their teams to important wins in the competition. The 17-year-old Alejandro Rodriguez from the England U-17 national football team is the top goal scorer of the tournament with four goals in three matches.

Samuele Inacio from the Italy U-17 national football team has the same number of goals as Rodriguez and has a chance to add more to his tally as the England U-17 squad has been knocked out of the UEFA Euro U-17.

In this article, we talk about the four youngest goal scorers in Euro U-17 history:

4. Cardoso Varela (15 years, 6 months and 22 days)

Cardoso Varela is also one of the youngest players in the history of the UEFA U-17 Euros to score a goal. During the 2024 edition of the European competition, the winger of the Portugal U-17 national football team scored a goal at the age of 15 years, 6 months and 22 days to become one of the youngest players to score a goal in the tournament’s history.

3. Bruno Gama (15 years, 5 months and 26 days)

The record of the youngest goal scorer in the Euro U-17 tournament was previously held by Bruno Gama of Portugal. During the 2002 U-17 Euro campaign, he became the youngest goal scorer at the age of 15 years, 5 months and 26 Days. His record stood for over 20 years before it was broken by Max Dowman of England U-17.

2. Viktor Tsygankov (15 years, 5 months and 26 days)

Born on November 15, 1997 and hailing from Ukraine, Viktor Tsygankov scored for his side in the UEFA European Under-17 Championship 2013 edition, which placed him alongside Bruno Gama of Portugal, who was of the exact same age as Viktor Tsygankov. This helped him in his career going forward.

1. Max Dowman (15 years, 4 months and 26 days)

The England U-17 national football team met the Czech Republic U-17 in matchday three of the UEFA European Under-17 Championship. Born on December 31, 2009, Max Dowman scored an early goal for England U-17 and became the youngest goal scorer in the history of the competition.
