The auction for the 12th season of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) is near. It is set to take place on May 31 and June 1 2025. One can expect exciting bidding wars and shocking player movements considering the quality talent which is up for grabs.
Several high-profile players are to go under the hammer ahead of the brand new season of the highly competitive kabaddi league competition.
In preparation for the auction and the new season at large, the PKL teams released several key players, including defenders, to shake up their squad before the term began.
The respective teams are looking to bring fresh faces into their lineups to have a better chance at winning the trophy, and defenders are central figures in every championship-winning side.

Surjeet Singh
Surjeet Singh is one of the defenders to watch out for in the season 12 auction of the Pro Kabaddi League. He is a veteran of the competition, having been part of it since season three. T
he right cover defender was part of the Jaipur Pink Panthers squad in the 11th season. Post his release from the outfit, Singh will be available in the auction for teams looking to add experience in the defensive department.
Ankush Rathee
Ankush Rathee had an impressive outing in season 11 of the competition. The top-scoring defender from season nine scored 68 points for the Jaipur Pink Panthers last term.
He is another decent option in the left corner position for any team looking to reinforce its defence with players of high energy and resolve.
Yogesh Dahiya
Yogesh Dahiya played a key role in helping Dabang Delhi reach the semi-finals last season. He was superb in the right corner and often mesmerised the crowd with his advanced tackling.
The defender scored 75 tackle points in season 11, the fourth highest. As Dabang Delhi have released the defender, he will be available to buy in the auction.

Nitesh Kumar
Nitesh Kumar is available in the upcoming auction, which presents a fabulous opportunity for the respective PKL outfits seeking a solid defender who thrives under pressure.
The defender was part of the Bengal Warriorz team in season 11, where he scored 61 points in 21 matches. Playing in the PKL since season five, Kumar is a seasoned defender who elevates any team he represents.
Fazel Atrachali
Fazel Atrachali is one of the biggest names who are set to go under the hammer in the upcoming season 12 auction.
Regarded as one of the best foreign players to grace the PKL, the Iranian was released by Bengal Warriorz after a mediocre campaign. Expectedly, there is going to be a race to sign Atrachali, who brings leadership and experience with him.
