WrestleMania 42 was earlier set to take place in New Orleans
WWE is preparing for WrestleMania 42, which will take place the following year, in 2026. The business now plans to hold the event outside of the United States, either in London or Saudi Arabia.
However, it has recently been revealed that WWE is apparently encountering considerable challenges in securing its venue, and the most recent information indicate that the event’s eventual home remains undetermined.
WWE’s plan to pick the host city for WrestleMania 42 has taken an unexpected turn. The firm is presently in discussions with cities to urge them to submit additional bids for hosting the exhibition.
The Showcase of the Immortals was initially planned to take place next April at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, but it was reported late last week that the event will no longer be held there, and a replacement location has yet to be chosen.
WWE is allegedly putting pressure on towns to increase their bids to host WrestleMania 42. The firm is leveraging the uncertainty around the event’s location to encourage towns to boost their bids.
By doing so, WWE may be fostering a competitive atmosphere in which event hosts feel obligated to give more appealing cash packages to secure the event.
Fightful Select says, “WrestleMania 42 isn’t in New Orleans, and officially doesn’t have a home, though it’s expected to be Las Vegas once again.”
Many people are surprised that the business is considering Las Vegas again, given it was previously considered the favorite for the 2026 edition of WrestleMania.
Despite the persistent rumors, WWE has yet to announce the venue, and business insiders have remained tight-lipped, refusing to say anything official on the subject.
Meanwhile, some sources have indicated that other cities, notably London, may host the event. The United Kingdom has been mentioned as a potential location for WrestleMania, although the enormous expense of staging the event in London may be a big issue in determining whether the buisness pursues this option.
Then there’s the huge elephant in the room. WrestleMania might be hosted in Saudi Arabia, where ‘hefty site fees’ are unlikely to be an issue.
‘Super WrestleMania’ in Saudi Arabia
Ross Sapp enquired about the idea of moving WWE’s largest show of the year to Saudi Arabia, but was informed that this does not appear to be in the cards right now.
“A longtime WWE employee believed that if WWE does a WrestleMania in Saudi, it will be later in a year and be titled like, “Super WrestleMania” along the lines of “Greatest Royal Rumble.”
The Greatest Royal Rumble was a one-time event conducted in April of 2018. A little less than eight years later, the real Royal Rumble will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in January of next year. We’ll keep you updated on any fresh information and rumors regarding WrestleMania 42.
