Only two players have won six IPL titles in their career.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) are the two most successful teams in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Both sides have won five IPL titles each, however, MI were the first team to reach the feat. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are the next on the list of most successful teams with three trophies in their cabinet.
Since CSK, MI, and KKR have won the IPL trophies multiple times, some of their players have emerged IPL winners on many occasions. However, if we look at the top seven players with the most IPL title wins, CSK and MI members make it to the top. But some of the players also won titles with other teams as well.
Interestingly, only one overseas player is part of the list. In this listicle, let’s glance at the top seven players with the most IPL title wins in the tournament.
Top 7 players with most IPL title wins
7. Aditya Tare – 5
Former MI wicket-keeper batter Aditya Tare takes the seventh spot on this list. He won a total of five IPL trophies in his career. He was part of MI from the 2010 to 2015 seasons and later from 2018 to 2021. He won a total of four titles with the team in two stints. Tare also won one trophy with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 2016 edition. He played his last game in 2021 but has not officially retired from the league.
6. MS Dhoni – 5
CSK skipper MS Dhoni captures the sixth position with five titles in his kitty. The wicket-keeper batter has been part of the franchise since the inaugural edition in 2008, barring the two seasons when the Chennai-based franchise was suspended.
Interestingly, all five titles of the franchise came under his leadership as he guided sides to win in the 2011, 2012, 2018, 2021, and 2023 seasons.
5. Hardik Pandya – 5
Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya has also won five trophies in his career. He joined MI in the 2015 season and won four titles with them till 2020. Later, he won another title as Gujarat Titans’ (GT) captain in IPL 2022.
Pandya also returned to his old franchise MI prior to the 2024 edition and is now their regular captain.
4. Kieron Pollard – 5
Kieron Pollard gets the fourth place with an equal five IPL titles in his kitty. The former West Indies all-rounder won all five titles with the MI. He represented the side from the 2010 to 2022 editions and won the titles in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020.
Notably, Pollard is also the only overseas player with five IPL title wins.
3. Jasprit Bumrah – 5
Ace Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah grabs the third spot on this list. The right-arm pacer has been part of MI since the 2013 season. Hence, Bumrah was part of the side when they won the IPL finals on five occasions from 2013 to 2020.
2. Ambati Rayudu – 6
Former Indian player Ambati Rayudu has six titles in his kitty and steals the second place. Interestingly, Rayudu was part of both MI and CSK during his stint in the tournament. He played for MI from 2010 to 2017 and won three titles. Later, he represented the Super Kings from 2018 to 2023 and captured three more trophies. The right-handed batter pulled the curtains down on his career after the 2023 edition and is an active commentator.
1. Rohit Sharma – 6
Indian batting legend Rohit Sharma holds the peak position among the players with the most IPL title wins. Sharma won his first title in the 2008 season with the now-defunct Deccan Chargers. Later, he led MI to five IPL titles as a skipper in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2020.
