The Neeraj Chopra Classic 2025 event was originally scheduled to be played on May 24.
The Neeraj Chopra Classic 2025 will take place on Saturday (July 5) at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru, the tournament’s organizers announced on Tuesday. The inaugural edition of the event was originally scheduled for May 24, but was postponed due to the India-Pakistan conflict in the aftermath of the Pahalgam attack.
“Bringing the Neeraj Chopra Classic back this quickly has taken an enormous collective effort, and we’re happy to confirm its return on July 5. Our teams have worked tirelessly, and the unwavering support from the Athletics Federation of India, the Karnataka Olympic Association, the Government of Karnataka, and our partners made this possible,” Karan Yadav, the Chief Commercial Officer of JSW Sports, said.
“The energy around this event is bigger than ever, and we’re set to deliver a celebration of javelin that’s bolder, better, and even more unforgettable,” he added.
The Neeraj Chopra Classic (NC Classic) is co-organised by India’s javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra, JSW Sports, the Athletics Federation of India (AFI), and World Athletics (WA).
The NC Classic will become the first-ever Continental Tour Gold-level or A Category event to be held in India. Earlier, the tournament was slated to take place at the Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Panchkula, Haryana, but was shifted out of the venue due to floodlight issues.
