During the chase, PBKS lost their skipper Iyer for just one run. Josh Inglis scored 39 runs, while Shashank Singh added an unbeaten 61 runs. However, PBKS could only reach 184/7 till the last delivery.

Virat Kohli deserves the trophy more than anyone else: Rajat Patidar

After the victory, RCB captain Patidar said that Kohli deserved the trophy more than anyone else. He also added that it was a great opportunity to do captaincy under him. Notably, Kohli played in all three IPL finals that RCB lost since the 2009 edition.

“For me, it’s a great opportunity to do captaincy under him (Virat Kohli), and it was a great learning for me. As I said, he deserves it more than anyone else. He and all the fans. Everyone who has supported the management and, support staff, the way they’ve supported the players was beautiful. I just want to say one line for the fans – Ee sala Cup Namdu,” the RCB skipper said.

Speaking about the RCB vs PBKS encounter, he said that 190 was a good total because of the slow track. He also lauded Krunal Pandya and other bowlers who did a wonderful job defending their total.

“I think 190 was a good score on this track because it was a bit slow. The way bowlers executed their plans was tremendous to watch. Whenever I come under pressure, I look for KP [Krunal Pandya]. And all the fast bowlers – Bhuvi, Yash [Dayal], [Josh] Hazlewood and the way Romario [Shepherd] came in and the way he gave 2-3 overs and the breakthrough was special,” the right-handed batter further added.

Meanwhile, Patidar finished as the third-highest run-scorer for RCB in IPL 2025. He slammed 312 runs in 14 innings at an average of 24.0 and a strike rate of 143.77. He scored a top knock of 64 runs, including two half-centuries in the season. Virat Kohli ended as the leading run-scorer for the team with 657 runs.
