The 2025 edition of the Taiwan Athletics Open is scheduled to take place on June 7 and 8. The two-day competition will be hosted at the Taipei Municipal Stadium in Taipei City. India clinched seven medals in the previous edition of the Taiwan Athletics Open. They won three golds, three silvers, and one bronze medal in the 2024 edition.
Nayana James (gold in women’s long jump), Ankesh Chaudhary (gold in men’s 800m), Somnath Chauhan (silver in 800m), Dev Meena (silver in men’s pole vault), DP Manu (gold in men’s javelin throw), Nithya Ramraj (silver in women’s 100m hurdles), and Vismaya VK (bronze in women’s 400m) were India’s medalists in the 2024 edition of the Taiwan Athletics Open.
India will field a strong 34-member contingent in the upcoming edition of the competition. However, none of the medal winners from the previous edition have been included in the Indian team. India will compete in 14 events at the Taiwan Athletics Open 2025, including seven men’s events and as many women’s events.
The Asian nation is expected to return home with a rich medal haul, with multiple Asian Athletics Championships 2025 athletes taking the field on June 7 and 8. They are expected to continue their fine run in the ongoing season and raise the Indian flag high in Chinese Taipei.
