The BWF Indonesia Open 2025 is set to take place from June 3 to June 8 at the Istora Senayan in Jakarta, Indonesia. The tournament will begin with first-round matches on the opening two days, with the other rounds commencing on June 5.
As a BWF Super 1000 event, the Indonesia Open 2025 has seen several top-tier players participate, making the tournament a very competitive one as the stakes are high.
Among the marquee names competing at the Indonesia Open 2025 is World No. #1 Shi Yuqi. Joining him is the second seed and Thailand’s top star, Kunlavut Vitidsarn, the Paris Olympics silver medallist. The third seed is Denmark’s Anders Antonsen, who will be looking to step up in the absence of two-time Olympic champion Viktor Axelsen.
Axelsen has withdrawn from the tournament following a recent surgery and is currently focused on recovery.
In the women’s singles, Paris Olympic Champion An Se-young leads the seedings. She faces a challenging field featuring Olympic champion Chen Yufei and Wang Zhiyi. Japan’s rising sensation Tomoka Miyazaki, who recently claimed the Taipei Open title, will also be hoping to leave an impact.

The men’s doubles draw is led by top seeds Kim Astrup/Anders Skaarup Rasmussen of Denmark and number five seeds Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik of Malaysia. Chia and Soh recently claimed the Singapore Open 750 title. Home favourites and number 6 seeds Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto will carry Indonesia’s hope in this category.
In the women’s doubles, China’s Tan Ning/Liu Sheng Shu and Japan’s Chiharu Shida/Nami Matsuyama are the top two seeded pairs. The mixed doubles field includes strong Malaysia’s pairs— Goh Soon Hua/Lai Shevon Jemie and Chen Tang Jie/Toh Ee Wei as the top two seeds.

As mentioned above, points are awarded as per all Super 1000 events. The winner will get 12,000 points, while the runner-up will get 10,200 points.
Players reaching the semi-finals will receive 8,400 points, while those losing in the quarter-finals will get 6,600 points. A second-round finish assures a player or pair of 4,800 points, while a first-round loss will earn 3,000 points.

According to BWF rules, the total prize pool for the Indonesia Open 2025 is USD 1,450,000. The winners in both singles categories will receive USD 101,500, while their counterparts in the doubles events will earn USD 107,300. The runners-up in all five categories will obtain USD 49,300 in singles and USD 50,750 in doubles.
The losing semi-finalists in the singles events will take home USD 20,300, the same as the doubles pairs reaching the semi-finals.

In the individual events, an amount of USD 7,975 is reserved for players who lose in the quarter-finals, while in the doubles category, the losing pairs will receive USD 9,062.50.
In case of a second-round defeat, the sum on offer in the singles section is USD 4,350, while the pairings in the three doubles categories will pocket USD 4,712.50. Those eliminated in the opening round across all categories will receive USD 1,450.
