A Southern California family had a heart-stopping moment on Tuesday when lightning struck a house just feet away, while they were standing outside recording the storm.Tiffanie Buckner was filming the dark clouds rolling in when a massive bolt of lightning hit a home in the cul-de-sac behind her. Her 6-year-old daughter, Penelope, was standing in front of the camera at that exact moment.Seconds later, a loud crack of thunder rang out, and the family screamed and ran toward the camera in shock.“The sound was so loud and immediate that it made us all jump,” Buckner said. “It was different from the usual lightning that just lights up the sky.”She said she had only been filming to show the video to her mom and husband, not expecting it to turn into such a wild scene.Thankfully, no one was hurt, and the house that was struck didn’t catch fire.Penelope, clearly fearless, quickly recovered and even asked to go back outside once the rain began.“Of course, the answer was no,” Buckner said. “But the kids were OK and now have an amazing story to tell.”
