Surjeet Singh was released by the Jaipur Pink Panthers ahead of the auction.
Surjeet Singh was sold to Dabang Delhi for his base price of INR 20 lakhs at the Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12) auction. The auction room saw no more bids for the experienced Indian defender, and thus, he was sold to the Delhi-based franchise.
Jaipur Pink Panthers decided against using the FBM card for the right cover. Dabang Delhi will be Surjeet’s eighth franchise in his 10th edition of the Pro Kabaddi League.
Day 1 of the PKL auction concluded with 10 players breaching the INR 1 Cr mark. Two players, Sahil Gulia and Pardeep Narwal, fetched no bids on the opening day of the auction. The second day of the PKL auction will take place on Sunday (June 1) and will commence at 10 in the morning.
A look at Surjeet Singh’s PKL Journey
Surjeet Singh began his PKL journey with Puneri Paltan in Season 3. He played for U Mumba in PKL Season 4 and then plied his trade for Bengal Warriorz for the next couple of seasons. The experienced Indian defender joined Puneri Paltan for the seventh season and moved to Tamil Thalaivas for the eighth edition of the Pro Kabaddi League.
In PKL 9, Surjeet Singh was part of the Telugu Titans’ squad and had a forgettable season with just 19 points from 13 matches. He played for Bengaluru Bulls and Jaipur Pink Panthers in PKL Season 10 and 11, respectively.
The 34-year-old player has played for seven teams across nine PKL seasons. He was with the Bengal Warriorz and Puneri Paltan for two seasons each.
Surjeet Singh carries ample experience on his back, having played for multiple teams in the Pro Kabaddi League. He has earned 462 points from 171 matches, including 443 tackle points and 19 raid points. The right cover has 25 Super Tackles and 34 High 5s to his name in the league.
