Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) enjoyed their time with the bat in the ongoing game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi hosted the game between the two teams in the tournament on Sunday (25th May).
SRH, who had a disappointing outing in the IPL 2025, made sure that they ended the league on a high as they came up with a brutal effort with the bat. Skipper Pat Cummins won the toss and opted to bat first, and the batters made sure that the skipper’s decision paid off and they gave immense entertainment to fans in Delhi.
SRH was off to a dominating start with the bat as openers Abhishek Sharma (32) and Travis Head (76) were all over the KKR bowlers. The duo gave the flashbacks of last year and slammed 92 runs for the opening partnership inside just seven overs.
After Abhishek got out, Heinrich Klaasen (105*) joined hands with Head, and the duo together inflicted further carnage, adding 83 runs for the second wicket. After Head was back, the limelight was taken by Klaasen as he slammed the joint third-fastest century in the IPL.
Ishan Kishan (29) and Aniket Verma (12*) made vital contributions as well and Sunrisers Hyderabad posted a massive total of 278 for three. This was also the third-highest team total in the history of the IPL.
