Jannik Sinner vs Andrey Rublev prediction, betting tips & odds, head-to-head, preview: French Open 2025

Sinner is yet to drop a set in French Open 2025.

Italian World No. #1 Jannik Sinner enters his second week at Roland Garros with a flawless performance over Jiri Lehecka. Sinner lost a mere three games en route to his 6-0, 6-1, 6-2 victory over the Czech player. The top seed raced past Lehecka in just 94 minutes to begin his 52nd week as No. #1 in style.

Sinner dismantled Lehecka’s game in a lopsided encounter that saw the latter win just 45 points to 91 by Sinner. Lehecka could manage only 17 winners while making 29 unforced errors in his third-round match against the Italian. The 23-year-old Sinner converted seven break-point opportunities and never dropped serve as he booked a spot in the fourth round.

The Italian now faces Andrey Rublev, who moved into the fourth round after Arthur Fils pulled out due to a bad back. The Russian has not had the perfect start to his 2025 French Open campaign. Rublev was tested by South African qualifier Lloyd Harris in the opening round.

Rublev, the No. #17 seed, took nearly two and a half hours to down Harris with the final scoreline reading 6-4, 4-6, 6-3, 6-1. Rublev spent an identical time on court for his second round 7-6(1), 6-1, 7-6(5) victory over Adam Walton.

Preview

Jannik Sinner, a three-time Grand Slam winner, bundled out Jiri Lehecka, winner of the Brisbane International, in convincing fashion and advanced to the fourth round. Lehecka’s first game of the match came late in the second set, which earned him a standing ovation from the crowd on Court Suzanne Lenglen.

It was another clinical victory for the Italian, who looks to be in ominous form. Sinner, the 2025 Italian Open finalist, remains on track for his first clay-court Grand Slam win when he takes on Andrey Rublev on Monday.

The top seed is on a 17-match win streak at Grand Slams. This noteworthy run also ushers Sinner into his eighth successive round-of-16 appearance at the majors.

The opposite is true for Andrey Rublev, who has experienced a significant drop in form over the past few months and slipped out of the ATP Top 10. The Russian’s win in Doha and the title round appearance in Hamburg underline a nascent recovery, but there’s more to be done if Rublev is to return to the elite bracket.

Match prediction

The money is on Sinner to return to the quarter-finals in Roland Garros with another straightforward win. His rival, Rublev, trails the Italian 6-3 and has lost to Italians in his previous two visits to the French capital. In 2023, he lost to Lorenzo Sonego, and history repeated itself in 2024 when Rublev succumbed to Matteo Arnaldi. Both losses came in the third round.

Sinner has an advantage over Rublev and heads into their face-off with a 2-1 lead over the Russian on clay courts. While Rublev will be well rested after benefiting from a Fils walkover in round three, he will need to turn in an extraordinary performance to avoid losing to an Italian for the third successive French Open.

Result: Sinner to win in four sets.
