RCB defeated PBKS by six runs in the IPL 2025 final.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) collided in the final of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Tuesday, June 3. The RCB vs PBKS encounter took place at the Narendra Modi International Cricket Stadium in the clash. RCB outplayed PBKS by six runs in the game to steal the title.
PBKS had a target of 191 runs in the encounter. During the chase, openers Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh got out for 24 runs and 26 runs respectively. Shreyas Iyer lost his wicket cheaply for one run, while Josh Inglis added 39 runs. Shashank Singh scored a half-century.
However, PBKS could only reach 184/7 till the end. Earlier, PBKS captain Iyer won the toss and chose to bowl first. RCB opener Phil Salt failed to go big with the bat, losing his wicket for 16 runs. Virat Kohli scored 43 runs.
Rajat Patidar (26), Liam Livingstone (25), and Jitesh Sharma (24) added crucial runs to propel the scoreboard to 190/9 in the first innings. PBKS pacers Arshdeep Singh and Kyle Jamieson captured three-wicket hauls.

After the RCB vs PBKS encounter, Virat Kohli (657) jumped to the third spot following his 43-run knock in the match. Gujarat Titans (GT) batter Sai Sudharsan has won the Orange Cap in IPL 2025 after finishing with 759 runs. Suryakumar Yadav (717) grabbed the second spot while Shubman Gill (650) clinched the fourth spot among the top five-highest run-scorers in IPL 2025. Mitchell Marsh ended in fifth place with 627 runs.

Josh Hazlewood, who picked one scalp in the encounter, jumped to the third spot with 22 wickets. Prasidh Krishna won the Purple Cap with 25 wickets. Noor Ahmad ended in the second place with 24 wickets. Trent Boult clinched the fourth spot with 22 scalps.
