The Janusz Kusocinski Memorial 2025 athletics meet is scheduled to be held on May 23 at the Stadion Śląski in Chorzów, Poland. Several top athletes from across the globe, including Neeraj Chopra, will take the field in the prestigious event named after legendary Polish Olympic champion Janusz Kusocinski.

The competition will serve as a World Athletics Continental Tour Silver event. It was first held in 1954, making it Poland’s oldest track and field event. In Poland, the athletes will compete in 16 events, including nine in the women’s category and seven in the men’s category.

Neeraj will be the only Indian athlete competing at the historic Janusz Kusocinski Memorial 2025 on Friday. He will be joined by the likes of Germany’s Julian Weber and Grenada’s Anderson Peters in a star-studded lineup for the men’s javelin throw final. Three players from Poland and one each from Moldova and Ukraine will also rub shoulders against the favourites.

Two-time Olympic medallis, Neeraj, heads into this competition on the back of a second-place finish in the Doha Diamond League 2025 on May 16. He registered a throw of 90.23m in Qatar to breach the 90m mark for the first time and broke the National Record too.
