AEW Dynamite has some interesting matchups this week

AEW Dynamite this Wednesday will air live from the Rio Rancho Events Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico (originally called the Santa Ana Star Center), a 6,000-seat arena and home to the IFL’s Duke City Gladiators.

Another week of intense action and plot development on AEW Dynamite results in another instalment with more of the same. Nonetheless, we find ourselves in the same situation as AEW, which has teased and released only two matches and an intriguing women’s program.

The Double or Nothing event is just some days away. Aside from the Owen Hart Tournament finals and the hints of Anarchy in the Arena, we are left wondering. There are possibilities awaiting confirmation. Nonetheless, AEW’s 2025 comeback is restoring optimism.

AEW Dynamite match card & segments

  • Mina Shirakawa vs Julia Hart

Mina Shirakawa vs Julia Hart

Tony Khan verified on social media that Mina Shirakawa and Julia Hart will square off on Wednesday in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

“After Mina’s 4 Way Eliminator win vs Toni, AZM + @Skyebyee, Skye’s mentor Julia Hart aims for payback vs Mina, with Women’s World Champion Timeless Toni Storm on commentary WEDNESDAY!,” he tweeted.

Shirakawa stated in a promo during Collision that she was focused on capturing the AEW Women’s Championship, claiming that whereas Toni is timeless, Mina is present.

Storm has been fighting in a series of championship eliminator battles until being pulled on Wednesday’s Dynamite. Shirkawa pinned Storm in her maiden match as an AEW contract wrestler, earning a championship opportunity at Double or Nothing next Sunday.

MJF signs contract to join the Hurt Syndicate

Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF), an AEW star, is slated to sign a contract with The Hurt Syndicate. He’s now revealed how he prepared for the moment.

Since helping The Hurt Syndicate retain their World Tag Team Titles at AEW Dynasty 2025, MJF has expressed a desire to join the organization.

However, Montel Vontavious Porter (MVP) informed him that he needed to obtain the consent of all of the group members first.

Porter was the first to endorse Maxwell, followed by Shelton Benjamin, but Bobby Lashley remained unsure whether the former World Champion should join their ranks.

Maxwell also attempted to bribe his way into the organization, but Lashley advised him to injure people instead. MJF then demonstrated his ability to injure people by assaulting Top Flight.

Last week on Dynamite, Bobby Lashley granted Friedman the go-ahead to join The Hurt Syndicate, and the 29-year-old will formally sign his contract with the company next week.

Mercedes Moné comes face to face with Jamie Hayter

This Wednesday’s Dynamite will have a face-to-face match just before AEW’s Double or Nothing (DON) event next weekend.

Mercedes Moné, the TBS Champion, will face Jamie Hayter at DON in the finals of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. The victor of this bout will go on to fight the AEW Women’s World Champion at All In.

Will Ospreay comes face to face with ‘Hangman’ Adam Page

During his tenure in New Japan Pro-Wrestling, Will Ospreay established himself as probably the best wrestler in the world. His accomplishment meant that when he joined AEW in November 2023, expectations were sky-high.

On the May 14 special Beach Break episode of Dynamite, Ospreay and Page worked well together to defeat Konosuke Takeshita and Josh Alexander of the Don Callis Family.

This week Ospreay is set to come face-t0-face with “Hangman” Adam Page before both of them face each other in the finals of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament at Double or Nothinng this Sunday.
