Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) set the stage on fire with their brilliant batting effort in the ongoing game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The match between the two teams is underway at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Sunday (25th May).
Sunrisers Hyderabad hardly put a foot wrong in their innings after they opted to bat first. Openers in Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head came out all guns blazing as they attacked Kolkata Knight Riders bowlers right from the start, taking their team off to a brutal start with the bat.
Abhishek Sharma (32) and Travis Head (76) slammed 92 runs for the opening partnership inside 7 overs before the Indian opener was sent back in the hut. The Pat Cummins-led side then came up with a promotion for Heinrich Klaasen, and the move paid off incredibly well.
Heinrich Klaasen came up with the magical effort with the bat as he cashed in on the platform set by the openers. The South African batter slammed six off the third ball that he faced and, after that, didn’t look back as he slammed Kolkata Knight Riders bowlers all over the park.
Heinrich Klaasen ended up slamming his second century in the league and he achieved the milestone off just 37 balls, which is the third joint-fastest in the IPL. The keeper-batter played an unbeaten innings of 105 runs off 39 balls, batting with a strike rate of over 269 to go with seven boundaries and nine sixes.
Klaasen got good support from Ishan Kishan (29) first as the duo added 83 runs together for the third wicket and then Aniket Verma (12*) as SRH posted a massive total of 278 runs on the board. This was the fifth time they breached 250-mark in the tournament, and also, this was the third-highest team total in IPL.
