Two players scored more than 600 runs for the Mumbai Indians in a single edition of the IPL.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) began in 2008 and is currently in its 18th season. Mumbai Indians (MI) are the joint-most successful team in the tournament. They have won five IPL trophies, equal to that of their arch-rivals, Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Under Rohit Sharma‘s leadership, Mumbai Indians won the titles in the 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020 editions. They have been a dominating side in the tournament over the years. The Hardik Pandya-led side has reached the IPL playoffs in 11 seasons and reached the finals on six occasions.

Some batters have played a key role during MI’s dominance in the IPL over the years. A few of them showed an impeccable batting form during a single edition and were among the top run-scorers in the season. 5. 540 – Lendl Simmons (2015)

Former West Indies batsman Lendl Simmons captures the fifth spot on this list. In the 2015 edition, he mustered 540 runs in 13 matches for the Mumbai Indians. Simmons played as an opener for the side and smacked six half-centuries in the tournament.

MI also won the trophy in the 2015 season, and Simmons played a crucial role with the bat in the team’s quest for the title. Overall, the right-handed batter finished as the joint second-highest run-scorer in the league after David Warner (562).

4. 553 – Sachin Tendulkar (2011)

Former Mumbai Indians skipper Sachin Tendulkar showed a wonderful form in IPL 2011. Tendulkar, who also led the team in the 2011 season, slammed 553 runs in 16 games at an average of 42.54. The right-handed batter slammed two half-centuries and one century in the tournament. He finished as the third-highest run-getter in the season after Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli.

3. 605 – Suryakumar Yadav (2023)

Suryakumar Yadav captures the third spot on this list with his stunning show in IPL 2023. The right-handed batsman mustered 605 runs in 16 games, including one ton and five fifties. Yadav held a batting average of 43.21 and a wonderful strike rate of 181.13. Overall, he was the sixth-highest run-scorer in the tournament.

2. 618 – Sachin Tendulkar (2010)

Master Blaster also clinches the second spot on this list. Tendulkar was at his peak in IPL 2010. As a skipper and opener of MI, the right-handed batsman led from the front and smacked 618 runs in 15 matches. At an average of 47.53, the right-handed batsman slammed five half-centuries in the season.

He led the team to the final, where they eventually lost to CSK. However, Tendulkar won the Orange Cap by finishing as the leading run-scorer in the tournament.

Suryakumar Yadav also steals the top spot on this list. After 15 years, the MI stalwart has broken Tendulkar’s record for most runs for the men in blue in a single edition of IPL. In IPL 2025, Yadav has mustered 640 runs till the end of the league stage.

He has an average of 71.11 and a strike rate of 167.97 across 14 games. The right-handed batsman has also slammed five half-centuries in the tournament, including a top knock of an unbeaten 73 runs.
