WWE NXT Battleground PLE was a stellar event
WWE presented its latest Premium Live Event, NXT Battleground, which took place at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida, this weekend. Much like it has been doing for a year, the company added another exciting event to their list of successful PLEs.
Moreover, the event also saw stellar performances from a pool of top and talented NXT superstars who are making an impact in the Black and Grey brand. With their conduct in recent months and the aftermath of NXT Battleground, here are the five WWE superstars who are ready to be called up to the main roster:
5. Kelani Jordan
The rising standout of WWE NXT, Kelani Jordan, has been an impressive prospect for the NXT women’s division for some time. She was the first-ever NXT Women’s North American Champion and displayed an excellent showing at Battlrground as well against fellow NXT top star, Sol Ruca.
It might be time for Jordan to try and test her mantle in the big leagues by being called up to the main roster. Moreover, she could join SmackDown, the home of her real-life boyfriend, Carmelo Hayes, and make a similar impact as him.
4. Stephanie Vaquer
WWE NXT has been ruled by the reign of The Dark Angel, Stephanie Vaquer. The Mexican sensation won the NXT Women’s Championship only months after her WWE debut and had also competed in multiple main roster matches.
With her win over Jordynne Grace at Battleground, she might soon pass the reins of NXT to her and get called up to the main roster, much like her counterpart, Giulia.
3. Tony D’Angelo
Tony D’Angelo has been a hot prospect for WWE NXT for the last few years. He has been leading the charge of his faction, the D’Angelo Family, won championships and accolades, and seemingly done everything there is to do in the developmental territory.
Following his crushing defeat at the hands of Stacks at Battleground, The Don of NXT could make his way to either RAW or SmackDown and become the new main roster guy.
2. Oba Femi
The dominant Oba Femi has been a force to be reckoned with for a long time and has established his dominance ever since he won the NXT Championship.
Much like Kevin Owens did in 2015, Femi could also make his debut on the main roster as the reigning NXT Champion, after he retained his title against Myles Borne at NXT Battleground.
1. Trick Williams
Trick Williams has created history unlike any WWE superstar ever did at the 2025 NXT Battleground event. He defeated Joe Hendry at the show to win the TNA World Championship, making him the first star to win a non-WWE title at the event.
With his previous run as NXT champion, remarkable tenure, and becoming a history maker, it might be time to hear Whoop That Trick on either RAW or SmackDown.
