Virat Kohli is the leading run-scorer for RCB in IPL 2025.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) are wrestling in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 final. The IPL 2025 final is currently underway at the Narendra Modi International Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday, June 3. PBKS skipper Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to bowl first in the match.

Virat Kohli and Phil Salt opened the innings for RCB, who did not make any changes to the playing XI. Salt failed to fire with the bat and got out soon for 16 runs. RCB also lost No.3 Mayank Agarwal (24) and their captain Rajat Patidar (26) by the 11th over.

Pacer Kyle Jamieson got the two crucial wickets of Salt and Patidar. Spinner Yuvzendra Chahal got the better of Agarwal. However, opener Kohli kept his patience to keep the scoreboard moving at the start. However, he got out for 43 runs off 35 balls in the 15th over. Notably, the RCB stalwart has captured a new record to his name in the IPL.

Kohli has achieved the milestone of hitting most fours in the league’s history during in IPL 2025 final. The right-handed batsman has broken Shikhar Dhawan’s record. Dhawan had hit 768 fours in his IPL career. However, Kohli has now surpassed the milestone.

However, while Dhawan reached the mark in 221 innings, Kohli has achieved the feat in his 259th innings in the tournament. The next three batters on the list of batters with most most fours in the IPL are are David Warner, Rohit Sharma, and Ajinkya Rahane.

Meanwhile, Kohli was amongst the runs in IPL 2025. The 36-year-old finished as the leading run-scorer of RCB with 657 runs in 15 matches of the tournament. He scored those runs at an average of 54.75 and a strike rate of 144.71. He also hit eight fifties in the season.
