WWE Raw Summary and Highlights

John Cena – CM Punk

The Undisputed WWE Champion stepped into the ring and picked up the mic, stating that the crowd taught him something every time they opened their mouths, and what they taught him at MITB was that the truth is a lie.

John Cena called R-Truth a sideshow comedian whose greatest achievement was copying him. “We want Truth” chants erupted as the Champion asked if that chant had accomplished anything, calling the fans spineless keyboard warriors, pointing out that they had no real power to change anything.

Cena stated that R-Truth was a gimmick that the fans wouldn’t care about in a year. The Champ looked pissed as he reminded everyone that it was his farewell tour and he had limited time, 36 dates to be exact. The last time he counted, it was 27 days, but right now it was only 19!

Cena asked the fans to use their voices and send him some competition because everyone they’d cheered for, from Truth to Cody Rhodes to Randy Orton, he had shut them up while beating their best.

Suddenly, CM Punk’s music hit, as The Second City Saint appeared. Punk stepped into the ring as he asked if Cena was comfortable, because he had a lot of things to get off his chest, and Cena had to listen to everything he had to say, right here, right now.

Punk stated that it was ironic Cena was even talking, claiming that Cena was the one who would ruin wrestling while Punk, the outcast from Chicago, seemingly defended the establishment.

He clarified that he wasn’t standing for TKO, not for the billionaires, he was here to defend the people. Punk asked why Cena was mad, since he was picked by the establishment but never by the people. Punk stated he wasn’t here to kiss the final bosses’ asses; he was here because the fans were his boos. And if they wanted the Truth, they were going to get ‘Ron Killings!’

The Second City Saint stated that Cena was just another spoke on the wheel, just like everybody else, and it started by taking the title off Cena’s shoulder. Punk recapped their clash at Elimination Chamber 2025, where Seth Rollins stomped him and Cena capitalized, while stating that he was sorry because he knew what he was doing wasn’t right.

Punk added that when he took the title off Cena, he would apologize because the title had corrupted him, just as it had corrupted him in 2011. Punk stated that very few could accomplish being World Champion, but now, he would have to become a monster to stop the monster. To Rollins and Cena, the title meant power, but for him, it was something that belonged to the people.

Punk continued, stating that Cena had 18 dates left and left it up to him to decide which date he would take the title off his shoulder. Punk floated the idea of the title clash, right here, right now, in Phoenix.

The crowd erupted in “YES!” chants as Cena recapped: Cena vs. Punk, one final time for the Undisputed WWE Championship. He stated, “Let’s do it,” and the crowd erupted, but then Cena added, “Not tonight!” Cena continued, stating that a match like that would have to follow him to Saudi Arabia at Night of Champions.

If Punk wanted the title, it was going to be at Night of Champions. The ball was now in Punk’s court. But before Punk could respond, Seth Rollins appeared, accompanied by Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, and Paul Heyman, with the MITB briefcase in hand.

AJ Styles vs Chad Gable

In the first match of the show, AJ Styles locked horns with Chad Gable while the Creed Brothers (Burtus & Julius Creed) were keeping a close eye ringside. Despite the Creed Brothers’ interference, Styles was able to land the Styles Clash to pick up the win and continue his undefeated streak against Gable.

Backstage

Liv Morgan was backstage when Roxanne Perez came in, stating that she had an idea. However, Morgan interrupted, saying she would advance in the tournament and beat Iyo Sky to reclaim the title. Perez responded, saying she was glad they were on the same page and that they could work together to secure a win for Judgment Day.

Morgan shut down the idea, telling Perez to stay out of her way. Perez agreed, adding, “May the best woman win.” Morgan smirked and replied, “I will,” before walking off.

Liv Morgan vs Rhea Ripley vs Roxanne Perez vs Kairi Sane – Fatal four-way match for the Queen of the Ring Tournament

In the first Queen of the Ring tournament match, Liv Morgan, Rhea Ripley, Roxanne Perez, and Kairi Sane locked horns to qualify for the semi-finals. Despite her initial hesitation, Liv Morgan teamed up with Roxanne, manhandling both Ripley and Sane.

While Ripley managed to fight through, taking down Perez and Sane to deliver the riptide on Morgan, however, Rauqel Rodriguez interfered to break the pin. Sane delivered an insane elbow and went for the pin on Morgan, but Perez came in, rolling her up to bag the win and sneakily secure her spot in the semi-finals.

Bayley returns to attack Becky Lynch

Becky Lynch picked up the mic and went off on the crowd for not chanting that she deserved it. The Champ then stated that she didn’t care, pointing out her accomplishments, which now also included the Intercontinental Championship.

Becky declared that the IC title had become the greatest prize in pro wrestling because she had won it. Lynch mentioned that she should have been celebrating her title win with her hot husband and sweet child, but instead, she had to deal with “The Bird Lady.”

Becky explained that Lyra raised her hand so aggressively that she thought it was dislocated. She clarified that, because her arm was hurt, she had asked Lyra to put the title on her waist, but Valkyria tried to kill her. Lynch then called on Lyra to raise her hand again and do it right this time. Lyra Valkyria’s music hit, and she appeared.

Becky demanded an apology, but before Lyra could respond, Bayley interrupted, ambushing Lynch and battering her for the attack during WrestleMania 41. Lynch darted out of the ring, only to run into Lyra, who sent her right back into the ring. Bayley went for the Roseplant, but Becky managed to roll out of the ring and escape through the crowd stands.

R-Truth

Truth came in wearing the same mask and stood on the commentary desk, declaring that he was back because of the fans. R-Truth acknowledged the “WE WANT TRUTH” chants, saying he was back for every last one of the fans, but also for himself.

He pointed out that the fans not only brought him back, but while he loved being Truth, he knew he could sometimes be too funny, too nice, and too forgiving. But not anymore, he felt different now. He felt alive. Truth sent a warning to anyone who thought he was a sideshow act, a gimmick.

He pulled out a pair of scissors and cut off his braids, leaving the crowd in shock. “HOLY SH*T” chants filled the arena. Truth announced that the truth had set him free and introduced himself as Ron Killings, saying he was the whole truth. Killings ended the segment by telling everyone to put some respect on his name.

Backstage

Dominik Mysterio was in Judgment Day’s locker room when Finn Balor and JD McDonagh entered. Balor asked if it felt strange that Dominik was put in the King of the Ring Tournament. Dominik replied that since Balor failed to qualify for Money in the Bank, he figured he should enter the tournament and asked if Balor was upset about it.

Balor responded that he wasn’t upset. Why would he be? He was actually rooting for him. JD chimed in, saying they would go after the tag team titles next. Roxanne Perez walked in, and Balor and McDonagh congratulated her.

Just then, Liv Morgan entered with Raquel Rodriguez and asked what they were celebrating as Mysterio tried to explain. Perez clarified that she helped her fend off Kairi, but Morgan shot back, asking if that was all she did before walking off. Meanwhile, Balor continued playing mind games with Dominik, who said he had to leave before heading out after Liv.

Dominik Mysterio vs Penta vs Sami Zayn vs Bron Breakker -Fatal four-way match for the King of the Ring Tournament

In the first match of the King of the Ring Tournament, Dominik Mysterio, Penta, Sami Zayn and Bron Breakker battled, while all four stars had some or the other storyline with each other, except Penta and Zayn, but that didn’t stop them from battering each other.

For the majority of the match, Breakker was in full control, shutting down every offense from the three participants. It looked like he was cruising towards a victory; however, just then, LA Knight appeared, taking him out with a BFT on the outside. Zayn capitalized, landing the helluva kick to pin Mysterio and advance to the semi-finals.

Backstage

AJ Styles was interviewed backstage by Cathy Kelley. He said he couldn’t enjoy the night because he couldn’t stop thinking about what happened last week. He praised Chad Gable as one of the best in the business, but pointed out that Seth Rollins sent Paul Heyman to come and threaten him.

He added that Judgment Day was still running their mouths. AJ warned that if anyone disrespected him, he’d punch them in the mouth. Styles said if anyone didn’t believe him, they could ask Chad Gable. And on second thought, Styles was going to go tell him himself.

Grayson Waller was talking with New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) when Cathy moved over to interview the World Tag Team champions. They said there were a lot of great tag teams on Raw, but they wouldn’t defend their titles until a clear #1 contender stood out from the pack, because they actually cared about the titles, unlike the previous champions.

Karrion Kross congratulated Sami Zayn on his victory backstage, saying he showed his true colors by picking up the win after LA Knight‘s involvement. Sami Zayn replied that he won because he was good enough and will be a Champion because he’s good enough.

A promo aired hyping up the return of Asuka, recapping her accomplishments inside the squared circle. Asuka was set to return next week to battle Ivy Nile, Raquel Rodriguez, and Stephanie Vaquer in a fatal four-way for the second match of the Queen of the Ring Tournament.

Nikki Bella – Liv Morgan

Bella picked up the mic and thanked the WWE Universe and her Bella Army, stating that she missed them. Nikki said she was here to talk about something very special that would happen next month. She hyped up the crowd for WWE Evolution, which was set to take place next month.

The WWE Hall of Famer spoke about how the women’s division was currently filled with incredible talents, and Bella expressed how proud she was of it. But then, Liv Morgan interrupted, saying that if Nikki was naming the best women in the division, she should name her too.

Bella tried to apologize, but Liv continued, reminding her of her accomplishments and stating that Bella was lucky Liv wasn’t around back then. Morgan said that Bella hadn’t mentioned her because she was jealous, pointing out that Liv had everything. Not only did she have the title and the wins, but she also had ‘the man.’

Bella asked, speaking of Liv’s man, to whom he belonged, to her or Roxanne. Nikki then told Liv to thank Perez for taking her title opportunity and her man. Morgan fired back, saying that all Nikki would ever be was a reality star. Bella stepped back into the ring, but Morgan slammed her down with the Oblivion and left.

Jey Uso (c) vs Gunther – World Heavyweight title match

The World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso defended the title in a rematch from WrestleMania 41 against Gunther. This was his third title defense as he looked to shut down the former Champion once again, while Gunther wanted to reclaim glory and capture the title.

The two stars put on an amazing show with Jey fighting back his injuries. Both exchanged multiple sleeper holds, but in the end, Gunther managed to draw Jey into the hold, putting the Champion to sleep to reclaim the title and become the new World Heavyweight Champion.
