WWE has been a diversified landscape with superstars coming from various parts of the world. From legends to current superstars, many names have defined generations in the global juggernaut. However, a select few come from the proud land of Ireland and have captivated the audience in their own unique way.
Over the last decade and a half, the Stamford-based promotion has seen the rise of top talents from Ireland who have displayed exceptional in-ring acumen and larger-than-life personalities. Here are the top five best Irish WWE superstars of all time:
5. Lyra Valkyria
One of the newest Irish WWE superstars who has made an impact in only a few years is Lyra Valkyria. She made her debut in the developmental territory, NXT, in 2022. Within just a year of her arrival, she competed against top names in the brand.
Moreover, Valkyria dethroned The Man, Becky Lynch, for the NXT Women’s Championship at the 2023 Halloween Havoc event. She came up to the main roster in 2024 and became the first-ever Women’s Intercontinental Champion following a spectacular year, and continues to rise as a top talent from Ireland in the global juggernaut.

4. JD McDonagh
JD McDonagh began his wrestling training under veteran wrestling star Finn Balor in Bray, Ireland, at his wrestling school. Following his successful stint in NXT UK and NXT, McDonagh came up to the main roster and aligned himself with The Judgment Day.
The Irish star even held the WWE World Tag Team Championships with his mentor, Finn Balor, in 2024 and is slowly making waves as a top Irish export in the promotion.
3. Sheamus
In 2009, WWE Universe saw the emergence of the Irish brute, Sheamus, who began his WWE journey. Within months of his debut, The Celtic Warrior defeated the GOAT, John Cena, to win his first-ever WWE Championship. As the years progressed, Sheamus continued his winning ways, claiming multiple championships and accolades in the process, and is still an active part of the Monday Night RAW roster.

2. Finn Balor
WWE made a huge acquisition in 2014 when Finn Balor joined NXT following his successful tenure in NJPW and other independent promotions. Balor thrived as a top attraction in the former Black and Gold brand and then made his way to the main roster in 2016.
Within weeks of his call-up, Balor created history by becoming the first-ever WWE Universal Champion. Balor is currently in charge of Judgment Day, years after he etched top titles in the promotion on his resume.

Arguably, the biggest WWE superstar from Ireland and even of all time is Becky Lynch. Beginning her career in WWE NXT and revolutionizing the business as part of the Four Horsewomen, Lynch had her breakthrough in 2018 when she transitioned into becoming ‘The Man.’
She rewrote history by becoming a part of the first-ever WrestleMania main event for the women and winning it. Becky Lynch has become a marquee attraction in the wrestling world, and she commands stardom like no other among the esteemed fan base.
