Pardeep Narwal is the leading all-time top scorer of the PKL.
In what turned out to be one of the most shocking and emotional moments of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12) auction, legendary raider Pardeep Narwal went unsold across both days in Mumbai.
Known as the ‘Dubki King’ and the all-time top scorer in Pro Kabaddi League history, Pardeep Narwal’s absence from the list of selected players left fans heartbroken and stunned.
Once the face of PKL, a player whose name was synonymous with kabaddi excellence, saw no team raise a paddle—even with a modest base price of ₹20 lakhs.
Pardeep, now 28, was expected to struggle in this year’s auction due to his dip in form over the last couple of seasons. However, very few imagined a complete snub, especially after what he has achieved in the league.
His recent stint with Bengaluru Bulls in Season 11 ended on a disappointing note, where he managed only 111 raid points in 20 matches. That followed another lacklustre season with UP Yoddhas in Season 10, where he had collected 122 raid points in 17 appearances. For a player of his stature, the numbers just didn’t reflect his legacy.
A look at Pardeep Narwal’s PKL Journey
Despite his current form, Pardeep Narwal’s journey in the Pro Kabaddi League remains one of the most iconic ever. He began his career with Bengaluru Bulls in Season 2 but truly came into the spotlight when he joined Patna Pirates in Season 3.
From there, he rewrote history, guiding the Patna Pirates to their first-ever silverware. In Season 5, he became the first raider ever to breach the 300-point mark in a single campaign, finishing with an astonishing 369 points. Under his lead, the Pirates lifted three consecutive PKL trophies and dominated the league.
Nicknamed the ‘Dubki King’ for his signature move and ‘Record Breaker’ for his unmatched raiding stats, Pardeep went on to score 300+ points again in Season 7. His journey later continued with UP Yoddhas, where he had two solid seasons, including 220 points in Season 9. However, the decline began soon after.
His return to Bengaluru Bulls in Season 11 was supposed to reignite the spark, but it failed to produce the magic of earlier seasons. And now, for the first time, the league will begin without one of its biggest stars on the mat.
With 1810 raid points, 82 Super Raids, and 88 Super 10s from 190 matches, Pardeep Narwal’s legacy in the Pro Kabaddi League remains untouchable—even if his name was missing from the final list.
